I painted this for the 2012 Muralist Art Show in Portland Oregon. My Mural at the Mirador Store in S.E. Portland on Division had been covered up due to laws passed by the Vera Katz administration (then mayor of Portland) as Murals were… (wait for it!) ADVERTISEMENT. This was taken to court, and my mural was at the center of the controversy/court case. And… we won. Sadly, the mural is gone now, first due to Tagger Vandalism and then to the Store being torn down due to more unnecessary gentrification. If Portland has an affliction, it is at the hands of the City Government and the Developers who have done their best to make parts of Portland unlivable.

This piece was based on an event that I along with 3 others observed in November 1967 near Laguna Beach/Newport Beach California one morning before & during sunrise. No, we were not on anything. If there was ever a painting, I wanted to be able to have move and make sounds, it would be this one. The vision lasted for over 30 minutes.
